# Managing and Searching Chats

> The resizable sidebar chat list, pinning, renaming, deleting, cross-chat search, and in-chat search

## The chat list in the sidebar

The sidebar shows chats per agent as well as recent (ad-hoc) chats. Recent chats are grouped into "Today / Yesterday / Last 7 days / Last 30 days."

On desktop, the sidebar is **resizable** — drag its right edge to the width you like (double-click the handle to reset). Dragging it all the way in collapses it to a narrow icon rail; drag it back out to expand. The width is remembered per device.

## Pinning

Pin frequently used chats to keep them at the top of the sidebar.

* Choose "**Pin**" from the chat's menu
* To remove it, choose "Unpin"

## Renaming

Chat titles are generated automatically from the first message, but you can change them at any time via "**Rename**" in the menu.

## Deleting

Choose "**Delete**" from the chat's menu. The messages in the chat are deleted as well.

<Warning>
  Deleted chats cannot be restored.
</Warning>

## Cross-chat search

"**Search**" in the sidebar (shortcut: `⌘K`, `Ctrl + K` on Windows) opens the command palette, where you can search your past chats.

* Both **titles and message bodies** are searched
* Select a result to jump to that chat

## In-chat search

To search within the open chat, use "Search in this chat." Move between hits with "Previous / Next."

## When a chat cannot be found

If you see "Chat not found," the chat has been deleted or you no longer have access (for example, a chat belonging to an agent that is no longer shared with you).
